    Just the Facts:
    • Honda is recalling 3,336 2010 Accord Crosstours because of a problem with the front passenger-side airbag.
    • Honda says the problem lies with the airbag packing cloth cover.
    • The recall is expected to begin on September 22.

    WASHINGTON — Honda is recalling 3,336 2010 Accord Crosstours because of a problem with the front passenger-side airbag, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

    "The front passenger airbag may not have been assembled according to correct specifications," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "In the event of a crash, the front passenger airbag may not deploy as intended and could place an unbelted child seated in the front passenger seat at greater risk of injury should the airbag deploy."

    In other documentation filed with the federal government, Honda said the problem lies with the airbag packing cloth cover.

    "Deployment of the low-risk deployment flag will be delayed, resulting in improper performance," wrote Jay Joseph, the senior manager of Honda's product regulatory office. "Should the flap deploy improperly when an unbelted child is out of position in the front seat, the child may incur neck injuries."

    Honda dealers will inspect and replace the passenger airbag module if necessary. The recall is expected to begin on September 22. Owners can contact Honda at (800) 999-1009.

    @funny....

    You beat me to it.  I agree the Crosstour should be recalled for being so ugly.  And this coming from someone who used to swear by Honda's  (maybe they're still as reliable as ever, but do they really have to be as ugly as sin?)
