BEIJING — Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor has selected Britain's I.M. Group as its European distributor. Great Wall, which makes such vehicles as the Phenom, the Coolbear and the Florid, plans to enter the Baltic countries initially in 2010, followed by Scandinavia and the UK in 2011.

I.M. Group currently imports and distributes Subaru, Isuzu and Daihatsu vehicles in the UK.

It did not specify which Great Wall models it plans to market in Europe, but the company's press release was accompanied by an image of the Great Wall Phenom.

Inside Line says: Not only does it have a great brand name, Great Wall also has coined some highly entertaining vehicle nameplates. We'll see how they fly in Europe. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

This Phenom will sell well in Europe I'm sure but last I heard the Toyota Yaris was selling well in Europe. Toyota Yaris is known as the Vitz in Europe and is pretty competitive; I'll give the Phenom credit for having a much more appealing nose then the Yaris.
