DETROIT — In a litany of what will not be on the 2010 GMC Terrain, the general manager of Buick GMC on Monday said there are no plans for a diesel version of the Terrain or a Denali version of the vehicle.

Susan Docherty did a deep dive into the Terrain during a Web chat on the corporate GM FastLane blog, responding to questions by consumers. She said there are "no current plans for a Denali version" of the Terrain, contradicting an earlier report from GM that it was considering such a move. She also said there are "no plans for a diesel version at this time."

"We are not considering building a żBuick' version of the Terrain/[Chevrolet] Equinox," she said in response to a question. In late August, GM pulled the plug on a Buick variant of the Terrain/Equinox after a version received negative reaction from media and consumer groups.

Docherty also addressed the limited availability of the Terrain.

"Sales are pretty brisk, so don't be surprised if your local dealer is a bit short at this time," she said. "Availability will improve as we move into October."
