Ford Visos concept
What's Special About It?
Ford put its young design team to work on the future of the Blue Oval. As purely a study in design, the team got together to dream about Ford's future styling cues and technology, and the Ford Visos is the result. Ford calls its Visos concept car a showcase for new ideas in automotive electronics, use of space and the way people interact with their vehicles. Elements of the Visos were designed with the intention of integrating them into future Ford products.
The Visos is a four-passenger combination sports car and touring car that's only a tiny bit longer than a Ford Focus. In order to ease its access for rear-seat passengers, the design team cut panels in the roof above the rear doors that lift up and fold inward to allow for a more graceful entry into the seat.
Inside the cabin, technology takes over with a sculpted instrument pod that's mounted on the steering wheel, and an LCD monitor in the center console that allows easy central control of all the Visos' functions.
Passengers' needs are amply attended by amenities such as a DVD entertainment system, a GPS navigation system and additional state-of-the-art technology provided by Sony and Biganimal Design in London. Comfort is supreme with a full reclining seat for front-seat passengers, and even an extending footrest.
Why Should You Care?
As with many concept cars, everyday consumers often find themselves standing around the show car, scratching their heads and wondering, "Do I really need all of this gadgetry?" With the Ford Visos, the answer is definitely yes. Add the Visos' distinctive design attributes to a 3.0-liter bi-turbo engine capable of producing 350 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, and we find ourselves hankering for a test-drive.
