    Ford Thunderbird Custom - Front

We think Ford should've gone with those bigger fender vents on the production version. Old hot rodders will recognize the wheels as being Halibrands, complete with knock-offs. | September 15, 2009

    What is it?
    Ford Thunderbird Custom

    What's special about it?
Wearing Dark Shadow Gray plumage set off with a black rag top, the Thunderbird Custom is not some way-out concept but rather a tastefully modified existing car. High-intensity fog lamps, bigger fender gills, old school-style Halibrand wheels with knock-offs (wearing 235/50R18 Michelins) and a lowered stance set this bird apart from the flock.

Two-tone sienna/black upholstery, white-on-black instruments and engine-turned aluminum trim (like a 1932 Duesenburg or 1970s Trans Am) highlight the Thunderbird's cozy cabin.

    Why should you care?
There's really nothing special about this so-called concept, though it does have some good ideas for current Thunderbird owners, such as the instrument panel trim and retro wheels. — John DiPietro
