About a year ago, Ford promised that more of the company’s sleek European design cues were coming to its US vehicles and this new Taurus is proof they weren’t just blowing smoke.  As the 2010 Taurus takes center stage here in Detroit, it’s instantly obvious the new look is taking Ford sedans in an entirely different direction. The car looks tighter, leaner and more stylish overall.   The new sedan is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 just like the current Taurus – it also uses a six speed automatic transmission. An all-wheel drive version will be available too.  For 2010 much of the car’s dimensions remain unchanged but the look and feel is less family car and more personal luxury sedan.   Features like laminated glass should make the cabin quieter but really it’s the options that take this Taurus to the next level - push-button start, auto high beam headlights, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control and multi-contour seats are all available on the new Taurus.  Attractive styling inside and out plus a tech heavy options list could be exactly what Ford needs to put the Taurus back on top. Look for the new 2010 Ford Taurus to go on sale in June of 2009.
