DEARBORN, Michigan — The Ford Motor Company has barely touched the sheet metal on the 2010 Ranger compact pickup. But it has finally added two critical bits of standard safety equipment: side air bags and roll stability control.
RSC is bundled with AdvanceTrac traction control. Four-wheel antilock brakes are also standard.
Ford is touting Ranger, with its 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, as "the most fuel-efficient pickup" in America. According to the EPA, the 2010 Ranger returns 26 miles per gallon on the highway — identical to the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette with its 430-horsepower 6.2-liter V8.
