SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — Speed Channel is giving away a one-of-a-kind Ford Racing Champions Shelby GT500 special-edition Mustang designed by 2011 Daytona 500 Champion Trevor Bayne and 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

The 750-horsepower Mustang is the sweepstakes prize in the Hagerty Fantasy Bid, an online game that's a part of Speed's six-day live coverage of the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Scottsdale Auction, with broadcasts starting January 17.

Bayne and Stenhouse, whose autographs adorn a dash plaque, loaded the Shelby with power. A Ford Racing Supercharger kit boosted the factory-installed 5.4-liter V8 engine from 550 to 750 hp, and a six-speed manual transmission delivers the power smoothly to the rear wheels.

A new intense-environment C&R Racing cooling system, a 3.5-inch aluminum driveshaft and various exterior aero and appearance upgrades add to its appeal. Also included are a high-performance handling pack, adjustable shocks, lowering springs and stabilizer bars. The extra power required an upgraded Wilwood brake package featuring 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors and six-piston forged-billet calipers in front, and 12-inch rotors and four-piston forged-billet calipers at the rear.

To enter the Mustang sweepstakes, contestants must make a bid during the Hagerty Fantasy Bid Game, a vehicle to help TV viewers feel like they're part of the Barrett-Jackson auction process. The winner will be chosen by random drawing from the Fantasy Bid players.

The Bid game has gained fans since its debut at the 2005 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, when 66,800 total fantasy bids were tallied. Last season, 699,200 fantasy bids represented a record for the game.

Besides the Mustang, other prizes are up for grabs. Players guessing closest to the real bids are awarded points at the completion of each fantasy bid car and each daily session. The player amassing the most points throughout the four days of Hagerty Fantasy Bidding is declared winner of the Grand Prize: A 60-inch Samsung 3D High-Definition television.

To play the Hagerty Fantasy Bid Game, log on and create an entry. Contestants can also enter via mobile device by sending an SMS text message to "773333" (SPEED 3) with a "fantasy bid" during applicable bidding times. To place a bid, enter the amount in dollars without punctuation.

I tried playing that game in its first year. The servers were so overloaded that I gave up after a few tries. I guess that's changed judging by the 10-fold increase in players.

I wish I could win one...so I can sell it on Ebay.  Use that money to buy a real sports car! for less than 30k and save the rest.  What a piece of crap!
