KENOSHA, Wisconsin — A $30,000 1965 Ford Mustang convertible is the top prize in a new "road trip" sweepstakes by underwear manufacturer Jockey. Jockey also named actor George Clooney as the person who'd be the best companion on a road trip, according to a survey it commissioned.
The giveaway is part of the Jockey Classic Road Trip tour, which runs through the end of June and visits such venues as the Mecum Auto Auction in Indianapolis, Indiana, May 19-23 and the Rib America Festival in St. Louis, Missouri, May 29-30.
Jockey didn't explain the appeal of George Clooney, the affable star of Ocean's Thirteen and O, Brother, Where Art Thou? But it did say he beat out actor Will Smith, comedian Will Ferrell and athletes Brett Favre, Tom Brady and Derek Jeter.
The sweepstakes ends on July 31.

You had a V8 or a 6 cylinder? Matching numbers and in near perfect condition like this car is easily worth 25k and im not surprised at 30k. your car sounded like it need a resoration which would easily cost you more than $22,000 to make it look like the car pictured. Do you have any idea how much more a car is worth with matching numbers? The price they show is more than in line with todays market in a near perfect mustang conv with a v8 and with matching number in BLACK. I dont know if you have kept an eye out, probably not from what you have said, but since the new body style mustang appeared the price on the classics took a good price jump and are remaining strong.

Actually, the verticle bar in the grille identifies it as a 64 or 65.

How the F* is a '65 Mustang worth $30K? I had one, black convertible even, and I was happy to get $8k for it. Granted, no numbers matching and some rust here and there, but still. Oh, and that looks a lot more like a '66 to me. /shrug
