EVEN BY TODAYS STANDARDS ANY AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR SHOULD NOT COST OVER 30K. MAYBE AFTER WE LEARN OUR LESSON IN ANOTHER 20 YEARS,WE THEN WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD 60K.

Since these cars (ugly GTS and GT350 included) will likely become very valuable collector's items, I'm sure that Shelby should have no problem staying busy making these. No different than the 60th Anniversary 427 Corvette Convertible Special Edition, it's for bragging rights more than performance. Not really sure what all the fuss is about over bang for your buck, that's not what these are about.

It just seems like they tried too hard to make them different. I guess that's what happens when you have 40 different versions of the same car.

Which 50th anniversary are they celebrating exactly? The Mustang was not offered for sale until 1964, the Shelby GT350 in 1965. Somehow the math seems....off.

Not the 50th anniversary of the GT500 yet, but let's not let facts get in the way of Shelby making a buck. From the PR, it says it's $60K plus a GT500 for the 600hp Shelby GT500. In other words, you pay twice as much for this car with the same hp as the upcoming GT500 from Ford.
