DEARBORN, Michigan — The 2011 Ford Mustang RTR, a new dealer-installed package for the Mustang GT V8 priced at $7,895, is now available at select Ford dealers. The package was introduced by Vaughn Gittin, Jr., driver of the Monster Energy/Falken Tire 2011 Mustang GT in the Formula Drift series.
Ford spokesperson Angie Kozleski says the package price includes "all the options," in an e-mailed message to Inside Line on Monday. The package includes Ford Racing Falken FK-452 tires, unique 19-inch wheels and RTR-exclusive floor mats, shifter knob and emblems. Other performance upgrades include Ford Racing mufflers and a Ford Racing handling pack that bundles performance-tuned dampers and springs.
Exterior touches include a chin spoiler with splitters and supports, rocker splitters, a rear diffuser and an aluminum rear spoiler.
A Mustang V6 package will be available in late 2010. The Mustang RTR Carbon is being teased at MustangRTR.com, priced at $135,000. No other details on the RTR Carbon have been released.
Inside Line says: A relatively affordable way to spruce up your Mustang GT, especially if you are a fan of Vaughn Gittin, Jr. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

That can't be a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 can it? In the 7th picture the speedo only goes up to 140 mph. The 2011 speedo goes up to 160mph..

I don't really like the chin spolier. Looks a bit too "Evo" for me. Also, I think I'd tear that thing off pretty quick on some of the city roads around here.

Getting torn a new one? By whom? From what? The new 5.0 GT, especially with the 3.73 ratio, can run with a lot of the heavy hitters...so from whom are you thinking the 'Stang is going to be running from with its tail between its metaphorical legs, hmm?

a ripoff? $8k for wheels, tires, suspension bits, aero, and random emblems seems like a bargain compared to saleen or other tuner packs. I will be excited to see what they do with the v6.

This looks like a real rip off. I'm sure that some of the Ford fanboyz will step up for getting torn a new one.

BadAzz! Wish it were a factory option though. Bet it'll run about 10k including installation + tax. Together with a nearly stock 5.0GT with 3.73 axle, probably total At Least 40k out the door. The stang is now officially in BMW 3series territory, cost wise. The 5.0 and being American, probably makes it worth it!
