LAS VEGAS — Two classic products, WD-40 and the Ford Mustang, have joined forces just in time for the SEMA Show here, for a WD-40/SEMA Cares version of the 2011 Ford Mustang GT. The car will be on display in the SEMA Show's Grand Lobby November 2-5. In January, it will be auctioned for charity.

The WD-40/SEMA Cares Mustang is a 2011 Mustang GT with a Paxton supercharger version bolted onto its 5.0-liter V8. The car makes a claimed 600 horsepower.

Street Scene Equipment provided the custom body kit, and Stillen AP Racing was the source for the six-piston brake caliper kit. The wheels are Forgelines, and they're wrapped in Nitto tires. Among the other aftermarket firms that worked on the car are Advanced Clutch Technology, Audio Innovations, California Pony Cars, Cie Games, GTR High Performance, Hotchkis Suspension, Katzkin Leather, L&G Enterprises, PPG Industries, PhotoTouch and Polk Audio.

True to its name, the WD-40/SEMA Cares Mustang is festooned in the highly recognizable yellow-and-blue WD-40 can colors.

After a tour of West Coast auto events, the WD-40/SEMA Cares Mustang is slated for the auction block in Scottsdale, Arizona, during the Barrett-Jackson auction January 17-23. Proceeds will go to two children's charities, Victory Junction Gang camp and Childhelp.

Mustang fan here: A bit tacky-looking, but if it's for charity, by all means. And it'll sell for a lot, since it's factory, yet is 1 of 1, and has 600 HP, plus all the extras, like the Katzkin interior and upgraded sound.
