DEARBORN, Michigan — Spy photographers are offering the closest look yet at the interior of the future 2010 Ford Mustang. The new Mustang's steering wheel keeps the current model's overall design, but adds a double-stack of controls, with cruise control buttons on the left side and satellite stereo controls on the right to operate Ford's updated Sync interface.

The prototype reveals new white-faced gauges, and the Mustang's speedometer and tachometer have switched places, placing the speedometer on the left and the tachometer on the right.

The updated interior also shows new rectangular air vents above the center stack, while the original round vent remains on the left of the prototype's steering wheel.

Spy shooters also managed to get close-up snaps of the Mustang's new headlamp and taillamp designs.

Expect the 2010 Ford Mustang to be unveiled at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.
