COLOGNE, Germany — The Aston Martin DBS may have been grabbing all the headlines in the run-up to the release of the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. But Ford announced on Thursday that its quirky little Ka will be the ride of the film's leading lady.
Ukrainian model Olga Kurylenko, who plays Camille in Quantum of Solace, will drive a showy Ka decked out in a metallic gold paint job with one-of-a-kind exterior graphics. Ford released a picture of Kurylenko behind the wheel wearing massive gold jewelry and a come-hither look.
"The new Ka is the perfect match for the character of Camille — adventurous, individual and thoroughly modern," said Stephen Odell, Ford of Europe's chief operating officer, presumably with a straight face.
The vehicles of the new Bond movie have been generating as much press as the movie itself. One Aston Martin DBS was totaled during the filming, and another was intentionally crashed. An Alfa Romeo crashed into a wall in another incident.
Ford notes that a Ford Mondeo made an appearance in Casino Royale.
Quantum of Solace is scheduled to be released on November 7.
