American Idol's Ford Fusion Hybrid Contest Reaching a Made-for-TV Climax This Weekend

    0 Ratings
LOS ANGELES — Ford's sponsorship on the megahit American Idol TV series has reached out in a tempting way to the public: giving away Fords, with the climax to be the awarding of a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The winner will get a Fusion tricked out with video screens, American Idol logos on such places as the trunk and floor mats, and — of course — a karaoke setup.

Contestants have been asked to answer a series of questions on the AI Web site about the music videos featuring Fords that are part of each episode of the talent-elimination program. Eight weekly prize winners have been given 2010 Ford Fusion Sport vehicles and trips to Los Angeles, where they get to sit on a video shoot for the Ford music videos and be in the audience for AI.

The grand prize drawing is May 11, with the winner getting a "2010 one-of-a-kind custom American Idol-inspired Ford Fusion Hybrid," with an MSRP of $31,000. The winner also gets a round-trip ticket to Los Angeles, three nights in a hotel and tickets to the season finale of the show.

Full details are listed on the show's Web site. The deadline for online entries is May 8.
