    What is it?
    Ford Forty-Nine

    What's special about it?
Following in the footsteps of the Forty-Nine coupe concept is this ragtop version. Sitting on chrome-plated 20-inch wheels, the Forty-Nine sports a sleek soft top with a glass rear window. On the front fenders are Thunderbird emblems, harkening back to the mid-1950s when the T-Bird's 292 or 312 cubic-inch V8 was optional on other Ford cars, such as the Crown Victoria. We'd guess (it wasn't indicated) that this one would have a tweaked version of the current 'Bird's 3.9-liter V8.

The interior features a "floating" center console and a rounded instrument panel hood, reminiscent of the dash of the car for which this concept is named.

Ford did go forward with the retro-styled Thunderbird. Who's to say they won't do the same with this Forty-Nine? — John DiPietro
