DEARBORN, Michigan — Ford is unveiling the new 2012 Focus wagon as the latest addition to its ever-expanding C-segment global portfolio. It will be on display at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show next week. Ford said the range will eventually include at least 10 vehicles by late 2012, including a global performance version of the new Focus hatchback powered by an EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder gasoline direct-injection engine.
Production of the new Focus begins simultaneously in North America and Europe in late 2010, with sales starting in early 2011. Production in Asia, South America and Africa will follow.
The Focus wagon, the fifth vehicle to be introduced by Ford as part of its global C-segment family, is expected to account for up to a third of Focus sales in Europe. The company's C-segment portfolio, which also includes the new C-Max and Grand C-Max crossovers, will account for 2 million units of production a year by 2012.
Unveiled at Frankfurt, the seven-passenger Grand C-Max is scheduled to arrive in North America in late 2011, as a 2012 model. The C-Max and Grand C-Max go on sale later this year in Europe.
Globally, the C-segment range will encompass six body styles, including a small SUV.
Inside Line says: Ford says the Focus wagon will be launched initially only in Europe, but it could be added to other overseas markets if demand warrants. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

I own a ford focus station wagon 2002 and to say I love it is not enough. I want to trade it in for a new ford focus station wagon but they are not available in the U.S. so I will hold on to it until they come back to the U.S.WHY are they not available in the U.S.? so far this car has run perfectly but you cant keep a car forever but I just dont want to settle for any other car. wojtkielewicz

I'm glad they haven't said anything about bringing this to the US. It only looks better and probably has more usable space than the new Focus hatch.
And I thought they said they would be focusing on world cars from now on. Why aren't we allowed to have wagons in the US?

This thing looks awful. Its styling suggests that it is an overweight minivan/SUV, not unlike the first-generation Honda Odessey.

Looks just like the Mondeo Estate, only smaller. I guess that's a good thing.
I still like / prefer the current Focus Estate / Wagon they have there in Europe, but would welcome this one with open arms.
I'm a big Estate / Wagon fan, so the more available in the market, the better.

The only wagon you can buy overhere is the hyundai, maybe the market will grow again if Ford would bring it here.Like the usefull space, without buying a suv and drag all this pounds of weight with you but not more room as a wagon. There are still people how are in the market for this car.lets hope the best.
