- Ford shows its new Fiesta Sport+ for European markets.
- The sporty Fiesta comes with a 118-horsepower gas engine or a 94-hp turbodiesel.
- All cars are painted blue with white stripes or the reverse.
LONDON — Ford has unveiled the new Fiesta Sport+, with a variety of interior and exterior upgrades, but the car will be marketed exclusively to customers in the U.K., Spain, Switzerland and Austria.
The Fiesta Sport+ comes with a choice of Ford's 118-horsepower 1.6-liter Duratec four-cylinder gas engine or the 94-hp Duratorq four-cylinder turbodiesel.
An aero body kit bundles a new front bumper with flared lower valence panel, side skirts, rear spoiler and rear bumper with integrated diffuser.
The exterior paint-and-striping schemes are pure vintage Ford. The choices are Frozen White with Performance Blue stripes on the roof, hood and body sides, or vice-versa.
Special alloy wheels are painted bright Frozen White and shod with low-profile performance tires — 205/40R17 with the gasoline engine and 195/45R16 with the diesel.
The cockpit is dressed in black leather with contrasting blue stitching, plus scuff plates and front and rear logo floor mats.
Inside Line says: Seems like a natural for the States when the Fiesta goes on sale here. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

All I can say is that you get a whole lot of car for the money.
I got to sit in a 2011 Ford Fiesta this week and feel the comfort and be amazed by the techongy you get from the SYNC system and the Dual Dry Clucth Transmission. This car blows away compatition. Ford did it again. Honda and Toyota can't compare. oh Nisssan don't think about it.

Wow, This what we have to look foward to... Its very hard to feel great about the years ahead of us. I bet a $ 800 1984 VW GTI might take this car to school. sad, But true..

Maybe we'll eventually get something better in the U.S.?

Looks great, but something with a Sport+ tacked onto the name should get at least a slight power bump and some suspension tweaks. It doesn't have to be turboed or anything, but they could do some ECU tweaks and duct work to squeeze a few more horses out. Either way, looks good.

A nice job on the exterior, but a quick glance at the interior and my gripe continues: the steering wheel looks incredibly cheap. Would think auto companies would put a bit more effort since its something your are always using in the vehicle..
And 118 hp? Prolly sufficient but not impressive.. Not a bad effort tho..

Looks hot. 118hp is plenty for such a light car.

I'm hoping that Europeans have a different definition of 'sport' than we do. This is nothing more than an appearance package!
Let's see a Fiesta RS or SVT, with some suspension tweaks and a power boost under the hood. Give it the low profile sport tires, though, at least they got THAT right with this model. The body mods are fine, just (as S197GT says) give it some 'go' to go with the 'show'.

Why a measly 118 horses?
