I wouldn't mind a 2 door in that blue.......Very nice ...depending on price.

Simply the best looking small car in America.  Every time I see one, I so enjoy the purity of form of this little hatchback.  While Mazda 2 comes across as a cheap hatchback, Fit as a function - first design be damned piece, and Chevy Sonic & Nissan Versa and Toyota whatever as irrelevant, this car, is simply a little jewel made in America.  Well done Ford

130-150hp is perfect for cars in this class...its enough to make them feel downright spry, but not enough to step on the toes of sport compacts from the same automaker.

but for some reason, the 1.6 from the veloster and accent just doesnt back that up...its the reason manual equip honda fit's and fiestas can run the same 0-60 times despite having appreciably less power and torque.

The Veloster got an 8.5 0-60 according to the Car&Driver track test.....not impressive, but not "high 8's" either.   The gearing in the new Accent and the Veloster IS all about fuel economy and sedate freeway cruising.  A lot of people appreciate that.

The US spec Accent/Veloster may have 138HP from it's 1.6 but all test results say it does not feel
like it. In fact it has a fairly norrow power band above 4600 RPM. This makes the Veloster slow off the
line. Part of is,no doubt, gearing to get to that magical 40MPG. But it's 126 LBS of Torque occur at around the same 4600 RPM. Performance wise a light car with 120 HP can be just as quick if not quicker-EI-base Mini Cooper.0-60 in 8.1 seconds. The Veloster seems to be getting in the high 8 second range 0-60. So not much faster then a Fiat 500.

I guess 132hp is a lot for a UK spec B-segment car.  It's just sad that the "enhanced" Fiesta doesn't even match a base model, US Spec Accent on power.  Then again, fuel doesn't cost an arm and a leg here either. :)
