I like it so much that I reserved a white SES wth auto and the big spoiler.  I hope it drives as nice as it looks.  The auto is so the wife can drive it and for the better fuel economy.

Got to drive it on Saturday and loved the way it handled.  The car felt planted like a German car, though I would prefer a little more go cart feel.  Nevertheless, it is what it is and it did its job well.  Steering had no slack and weighting was natural.  I could only feel the electric motor assist if I turn it at a dead stop.  Light clutch and slick transmission.  I can drive this thing thru LA traffic all day.  I don't care for the automatic nor its lack of manual gimmick.  If one wants to shift, one should do it properly, with a right hand and a left leg.

I'm not too thrill about the deletion of auto climate control that the Europeans have, but I can live with it.  No car in this class has it anyways.  However, the following demerit troubles me.  I have to compare this to the Honda Fit because I think the H brand got something right.  The Fiesta has a flatter, "less comical" front end.  But the entire package suffers as a result.  I tried the Fiesta's back seat behind the driver's seat that was adjusted for my 5'11" frame and room was adequate.  Granted, it was roomier than the Toyota Yaris so it is competitive.  The Honda's back seat felt like a limo.  Say what you want about looks, I'm going for function over form.

What a great little car! The outside looks very good. The interior is miles ahead of the Focus. The center dash has a very aggressive look and is contoured nicely. There is plenty of room in the front for tall drivers like me. I would buy this over a corolla, smart, civic, just about anything in the price range.

This is the game changer car for Ford.  Yes, Ford buyers love the Mustang and F-150 -- and those are still the big sellers -- but the Fusion and Fiesta are going to help Ford gain even more market share.

I remember the old Escort and how ever high school and college kid had one of those in the 1980s.  Now, an affordable and stylish car like the Fiesta could hook both price-conscious buyers and those looking for something cool to zoom around town in.

    Winner!

The lack of a manual shift feature with the DCT is a real downer to me.  For a sporty fun car, paddle shifting is a huge plus, and I like being able to shift an auto when i feel like it, but still have the convenience of fully automatic.  The justification for omitting it doesn't make sense, especially since the Fit has paddles.  I was pretty gung-ho on the Fiesta, but now I guess it'll depend on how good the transmission programming is when i'm trying to have fun with the car.

    Otherwise, it's a great translation.

It's pretty cool, but I hope they use the onformation collected on that preliminary Fiesta site they had to give us the options we voted for...including the turbo and other performance bits. Also, they have to give us a three door model. A hot hatch would go a long way towards guaranteeing this car's success. Can you say SVT/RS?

Kind of disappointed with the cost cuts, but i understand. I hope there are some options available like on the MINI. I would love to be able to purchase some Euro Style parts through Ford.
    I don't like:
    New bumpers
    Grill surround
    Headlights
    6inch ride height
    Seats

All else is fine. I just hope they didn't ruin the ride. If they did, there better be a sport suspension option available from day one!!!

I love how Ford can make a small car look stylish and fun.  If you look at the Japanese entries into this cataory (Fit, Yaris, and Versa) they look like clown cars compared to the Fiesta.  Good luc Ford.  If I were in the market this would be at the top of my list.   Edmunds and Consumer Reports will pan it though because that what they do to all domestic brands.  Morons.
