Tuner Special: Geiger Imports Ford F-650 for Germans With Big Appetites

    1 Rating
MUNICH, Germany — Geiger Cars is catering to affluent Germans who want to laugh at Europe's traditionally high gas prices by importing and substantially upgrading the big Ford F-650 truck for its customers.

Bringing the 5.2-ton truck across the ocean from the United States will set a buyer back more than $135,000. Once the F-650 arrives in Germany, Geiger is happy to modify it to the customer's liking. For $13,400, the company will install chrome fuel tanks on both sides of the truck cab. Vertical chrome exhaust pipes are also available, routed through the bed just behind the cab for $3,800. Geiger also will customize the interior with fresh leather, in-car entertainment and a navigation system. They'll even go as far as installing scissors doors on the medium-duty truck.

Inside Line says: For Europeans who find Hummers just too anonymous and fuel-efficient, the F-650 is the perfect ride. — Eric Tingwall, Correspondent
