DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford will roll out the new 2006 F-150 Harley-Davidson pickup model this fall, featuring optional all-wheel drive, a black exterior and lots of chrome.

The company says it will build up to 10,000 of the 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson limited-edition trucks for North America. The upcoming Harley-Davidson version features 22-inch polished-aluminum wheels and a cabin that combines leather with high-gloss piano-black surfaces.

Ford says it has made other changes in its truck lineup in order to meet its goal of selling more than 900,000 F-Series trucks in 2005.

It will also make a 6.5-foot box available for the 2006 model year on the F-150 SuperCrew model, for more cargo capability.

The entire F-150 lineup will include the addition of Sirius Satellite Radio as a factory-installed option. Ford will also make 20-inch wheels optional on the 2006 F-150 FX4, Lariat and King Ranch models.

The company boosts its F-350 Super Duty's towing capability to 19,200 with the TowBoss package, which offers a new powertrain combination. It mates a 6.0-liter Power Stroke diesel with a TorqShift automatic transmission and a 4.30 limited-slip rear-axle ratio.

What this means to you: Ford continues to improve its truck lineup in nearly every way, from creature comforts like Sirius Satellite Radio to better towing and cargo-carrying capacity, to appeal to the largest number of buyers possible.
