2006 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson
What's Special About It?
This is the latest in a long line of Ford/Harley collaborations that attempts to inject some attitude into Ford's bread-and-butter work truck. Upgrades are typically of the cosmetic type, but this year marks the first time that a major mechanical innovation debuts in the form of an optional full-time all-wheel-drive system. Other hardware upgrades include a specially tuned sport suspension, revamped exhaust system and 22-inch polished aluminum wheels.
Adding the desired attitude was a glossy coat of Menacing Black paint highlighted by full-length side stripes complete with Harley-Davidson script. Additional exterior upgrades include a chrome billet grille, aluminum side steps, chrome exhaust tips and blacked-out taillights. Inside, the F-150 Harley-Davidson gets unique piano black trim mixed with various splashes of chrome throughout. Leather captain's chairs come standard and both are embossed with the Harley-Davidson logo.
What's Edmunds' Take?
There's nothing wrong with a little collaboration between brands, but we would have liked to have seen something a little more unique than all-wheel drive and aluminum step rails. The pink side stripes didn't do much for us either. If you're a hard-core Harley fanatic, there might be some appeal here, but for just about everybody else it's an overdressed F-150 with nowhere to go. — Ed Hellwig
