SEALY, Texas — Hennessey Performance Engineering thought the 5.4-liter V8 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor was a little underpowered with only 320 horses, so it strapped on a Whipple supercharger and upped performance by an impressive amount with the VelociRaptor 500 upgrade package.
Thanks in part to 9.1 psi of boost, the VelociRaptor lays down 501 horsepower at 5,100 rpm and 520 pound-feet of torque at 3,200 rpm. Other performance modifications include a K&N air filter, custom fuel rails, upgraded fuel injectors, stainless-steel headers and exhaust and a recalibrated ECU. The upgraded Ford truck will now be able to sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds (down from 8.4 seconds) and cover the quarter-mile stretch in 14.1 seconds at 97 mph.
HPE will build 100 VelociRaptors each year at a price of $10,950 for just the package, or $14,995 installed. A one-year/12,000-mile warranty is included, and each vehicle gets serial-numbered dash and engine plaques.
Inside Line says: It was only a matter of time until Hennessey got its hands on an F-150 Raptor and gave it some action under the hood. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent

Count me among the chestbeaters. The Raptor is one of the most capable off road vehicles on the planet. More horsepower? Oh yeah...I guess it's ok for cars to have 500 h.p., but not trucks?

Now they should start working on the package for the 6.1 L engine so it will be relevant in six months.
