DEARBORN, Michigan — Ford said it will build a limited run of 50 off-road-only Raptor XT trucks, priced at $99,950 each. The Raptor XT will be on display at the 2009 SEMA Auto Show. In addition, the automaker said the new 6.2-liter V8 in the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor will deliver 411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque.

The Raptor SVT with a 6.2-liter V8 will be available for order in December, priced from $41,995, including shipping. The first units will be delivered in early 2010. The Raptor SVT comes standard with a 320-hp 5.4-liter V8.

Ford didn't specify an on-sale or delivery date for the 2011 FR Raptor XT, only that it would "soon offer" the off-road truck to customers. It described the vehicle as "a turnkey professional pre-runner" and said it has "the capability of (a) Baja race truck, with the comfort of the production Raptor."

Ford said the Raptor XT would feature a normally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 making about 500 hp and mated to a six-speed automatic, with electronically selectable four-wheel drive, plus front and rear e-lockers.

Off-road capability is further enhanced with a highly flexible suspension that incorporates A-arms in front and a four-link rear setup, plus coil-overs with bypass shocks that provide 15 inches of travel in front and 18 inches in the rear. Ford Racing also fits skid plates and a chromoly 4130 roll cage, as well as off-road beadlock wheels/tires.

The Raptor XT gets a unique appearance package that bundles tubular bumpers and integral lighting. The cockpit features factory seating with five-point restraints, plus power windows and air-conditioning.
