DEARBORN, Michigan — Ford said it has received more than 5,300 orders for the new 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor, the automaker's high-performance off-road pickup.
Initial demand for the 320-horsepower 5.4-liter V8 model exceeded the company's expectations, according to F-150 marketing manager Mark Grueber, who added, "We actually wound up building more [5.4] models than we had originally anticipated."
Ford has begun taking orders on the new 411-hp 6.2-liter V8 edition of the Raptor, which goes on sale in late spring. The 6.2 V8 delivers 434 pound-feet of torque.
The 5.4L version of the Raptor retails for $38,995, while the 6.2L edition is priced at $41,995.

I wonder who makes it? If only there could be a more obvious way to display the vehicle's origin from the front...oh wait...

5,000 is a drop in the bucket but this is a halo vehicle; not meant to be sold in the tens of thousands anyhow. I like this truck.
