    What is it?
    Ford EX

    What's special about it?
Think dune buggy. The EX is a two-seat concept that features composite body sections on a chrome-moly steel frame. The mechanicals such as the transfer case and aluminum radiator are moved rearward to achieve 50/50 weight distribution, which provides optimal traction in rugged terrain.

The ecto-skeletal design allows the components to be visible and removable side body panels are secured to the frame by lightweight fasteners. A honeycomb-textured front grille and four driving lights accent the exposed front frame structure. The bronze-tinted windshield folds down like a Jeep Wrangler, further offering the feeling of open-air driving.

Instead of door handles, padded grip areas on the top and side frame ease access when climbing in and out of the vehicle. Other features include dual stainless-steel side exhaust, 17-inch aluminum wheels, and a full-size spare behind the seating area.

    Why should you care?
Unless you really dig dune buggies, maybe you shouldn't. But if nothing else, the EX is a cool concept and easily the world's trickest Pismo Beach dune runner.
