DEARBORN, Michigan — Ford on Friday said it is beefing up its carryover 2010 Escape and Escape Hybrid with standard and optional technology features. No word yet, though, on whether this will boost the small SUV's sticker price.

When asked whether he had pricing information, Ford spokesman Wes Sherwood said: "Not yet. We'll announce pricing closer to launch this summer. It will retain a very competitive price."

The base 2009 Ford Escape XLS starts at $21,160, including a $725 destination charge. The 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid starts at $30,370, including a $725 destination charge.

Ford said the 2010 Escape and Escape Hybrid will get five new safety and driver-aid technologies, including a standard integrated spotter mirror to help with the driver's blind spot. Certain 2010 Escape models will also get MyKey, which allows owners to program a key that can limit the vehicle's top speed and audio volume. MyKey will be standard on models with the message center cluster, including the XLT trim level and above.

Other optional features include a rearview camera system and active park assist, which helps to position the vehicle for parallel parking.

Inside Line says: We'll have to wait and see whether the new tech features will inflate the Escape's bottom line. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

2011 Ford Escape adds HD Radio capability to receive a higher sound quality of radio and television, if available. Escape otherwise to carry more than one piece, 2010. The final vehicle model year, which comes from the Clinton administration. Escape went on sale in the summer of 2000, compared to 2001 model, and although some of the new engines and styling changes, the basic engineering and structural design are original. Ford Escape was priced right and the importance of enough buyers to make America's No. 1 best-selling compact SUV. Crash test ratings are good, the hybrid version is available, and even the playground Escape park. But the interior is cramped, so archaic. This SUV is OK in its day, but that day is over.

I recently traded in for a 2010 Ford Escape at the dealer here in Austin, TX [http://www.covertford.com/new-inventory/Ford-Escape] and I am mostly surprised by all the systems in car.  My favorite addition is the camera system that helps parallel park and the fairly high fuel efficiency.  Has anyone else purchased one of these 2010's?  I'd like to know what you think.
