Ford Edge Heads to Brazil

    0 Ratings
DEARBORN, Mich. — American cars are still popular in South America. Ford's Fusion sedan, which went on sale in Brazil, is the midsize segment leader. Now, Dearborn hopes to capitalize on that success by exporting the midsize Edge crossover vehicle to Brazil later this year.

The Edge will join the Fiesta-based EcoSport in Ford's crossover portfolio in Brazil, a bright spot in the Ford universe, with sales up more than 20 percent in 2007.

Ford also plans to invest $1 billion in Brazil over the next four years, much of it to renew its locally built products.

What this means to you: We're guessing the Brazilians may be lukewarm on the Lincoln Navigator. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
