GUANGZHOU, China — Chang'an Auto, the Chinese partner of Ford, Suzuki, Mazda and PSA Peugeot Citroen, has unveiled the Chana CX30 sedan, a four-door companion to the CX30 hatchback that was introduced earlier this year at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show.
The CX30 sedan shares styling cues, including its front end, with the hatchback, and will be offered in China with a choice of 1.6- or 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. The top engine makes 150 horsepower, while the most frugal version of the smaller engine returns fuel economy of 34 mpg.
At 175 inches long overall, the CX30 sedan is 3 inches shorter than the Ford Focus, which Chang'an builds in partnership with Ford in China.
Prices in China for the CX30 will start at $10,300 and will range up to $15,000.
Inside Line says: The CX30 could be a low-priced competitor to the Focus in North America if Chang'an decided to export the sedan. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

Low priced competitor to the Ford Focus? Hahahaha that's a good one! China still has a way to go before they could even try to compete in North America. Just YouTube "Chinese crash test" and you'll see why.
