- Fiat unveils its 500 Blackjack special edition for Europe.
- A matte-black paint scheme with red highlights detail the Blackjack's exterior.
- Fiat 500 Blackjack will be priced near $18,000 when it goes on sale in September.
TURIN, Italy — Fiat has announced that it will release a special-edition version of its 500 compact hatch called the Blackjack.
Like the standard 500, four engine options are available. Gas-powered versions include an 84-horsepower Twin-Air 0.9-liter two-cylinder, a 1.2-liter with 69 hp or the slightly more powerful 1.4-liter unit that develops 100 hp. There's one diesel choice, the 95-hp1.3-liter Multijet II.
Special to the Blackjack edition will be a matte black paint scheme and 16-inch wheels with red-outlined center caps and calipers. The exterior accents, like the mirror housings and door handles, will all be colored in gloss black. The interior offers silver trim and leather upholstery with the option of bright red seats.
Fiat says the special edition will be available in its key European markets by September starting at just under $18,000.
Inside Line says: Let's hope the U.S. sees this special edition when the 500 becomes available here at the end of the year. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent

I think for city cars is lovely plus it is good for C02 emissions which help to reduce environment contamination.
I have not seen it on the roads myself but I would give it a go, plus I really like the looks, good design for a small car.

deathtollwrx - Careful what you ask for. That cool looking, unique flat black will quickly fade from popularity once its all over the place.
As for the Fiat 500. It is great. When I was in Italy, they just came out. Really good lookign in person. To those that don't like small cars, you don't need to buy one. The rest of us will have fun.

It's a nice car , I really like the look of it. If I can wait long enough I'd pick up a eesees version of this car when it hits the stores.
I think alot of my fellow Americans would buy into this as a Mini Alternative.
I wish more cars were flat black, I love it!

It appears that in the states, to most americans, if it doesnt have a V8 and 300+ hp then its not good enough for them. The mentality of some here never ceases to amaze me.

Europe can keep the whole thing. I don't want to see that car here. The starter motor of my vehicles have more power than that car.

I'm sure it's been said before, do we need another butt ugly version of the already butt ugly Beatle?
I'd rather driver the Oscar Mayer wiener mobile.
Yes, you'd look real good in that . A clown driving a weiner. Can't miss............The psuedo macho types who write this nonsense are pitiful . Its about the car .......not the size of your willy's . Its comical and somewhat pathetic how you feel the need to try to reinforce your "manliness" by telling us all .
