Of course that hasn't stopped Ferrari from trying, and as our spy photos attest, the engineers in Modena haven't been sitting around patting themselves on the back for the last three years. The exact purpose of this Super Enzo isn't clear, but close inspection reveals several differences between this car and the standard model.
Up front, the Super Enzo sports a hood intake that looks as though it was plucked straight off an F40. Same goes for the Plexiglas side windows. There's also a set of what looks to be hood pins that add to speculation that this could be a one-off race special. The center air dam intake also shows some slight revisions hinting that a larger V12 is lurking beneath this Enzo's carbon-fiber skin. The likelihood that it is powered by more than just a 6.0-liter 12-cylinder is further reinforced by the huge exhaust pipes poking out from just above the rear venturis. They not only look tough, they spit fire with every downshift according to the spy shooter who snapped the shots at Ferrari's Fiorano test track.
This may turn out to be nothing more than a custom one-off racecar, but don't be surprised if a "Super Enzo" comes rolling out of Maranello to help Ferrari's superstar shine even brighter.
