Every Ferrari is its own singular self. Sure, the new 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia fills the two-seat, midengine V8-powered slot previously occupied by other Ferraris, but it's not as if it replaces them. Ferraris, after all, don't get thrown out — they just get their slot in the pantheon.
The first Ferrari to be named after the country of its birth, at its introduction the Italia berlinetta coupe had a direct-injection 4.5-liter V8 that could rev to 9,000 rpm and make 570 horsepower. Here's hoping the pantheon is ready for one very fast car with the 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia.
