AMELIA ISLAND, Florida — A 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico was the top seller this weekend at the RM Auctions Amelia Island sale, drawing a winning bid of $4.29 million. The event tallied $24.3 million in total sales, with two vintage Duesenbergs and a rare Alfa Romeo, all from the early 1930s, each fetching just under $1 million. All prices include a 10 percent "buyers' premium."
The top seller came from the private collection of former General Motors designer and Ferrari Club of America Co-Founder Larry Nicklin. A 1953 Ferrari 212 Inter Vignale Coupe from the same collection brought a winning bid of $660,000.
Among the best-sellers at Amelia Island were a 1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Spider ($990,0000); a 1933 Duesenberg Model J Torpedo Victoria ($979,000); a 1930 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Coupe ($962,500); and a 1968 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Berlinetta ($935,000).

I like the Alfa and Duesie, but that Ferrari is even more ugly than the new FF and I'd still have well over $2 mil left over if I bought them instead.
