Man vs. Man. Man vs. Nature. Man vs. Machine. Classic conflicts in drama and literature.
But what about Machine vs. Machine, the modern-day conflict?
We test cars on many levels. We race them, we brake them, we toss them around curves, we drag them out on the highway, slice them through cones, tally up their stickers.
It doesn't matter how good your car is. It has to be better than another to be the best.
And we won't rest until we have a winner.

I would enjoy seeing these photo montages much more if whomever puts these together would fix a few things.
this media player needs some tweaking:
-there is no caption while in full screen mode
-there is no "next" button when viewing in normal mode, you are forced to click the photos
and finally, captions are messed up:
"close encounters" consists of a Civic SI and a VW GTI, not a Mazda3 S.
and like cranky colorado1974 said, the pickup truck battle is wrong.
what's going on? new year's hangover?

I had almost forgotten the Kia-VS-battle to see just how far the automobile has progressed in 23 years. That was one of the more absurd but enjoyable articles. And as you guys wrote "Sure it's stupid, but that's the point" compellingly stupid.
I love this site but I have to hand it to shows like Fifth Gear and Top Gear for creating some of the best and most ridicules automotive battles around. Only there can you find a rally car compete against a bobsled or a Toyota truck prove its dependability against the ocean. I'd love to see this site let loose with their inner child. Even if it means taking a bit of Top Gears Absurdity.

Colorado, I think you're being nit-picky. This is one of the best sets of picture's I've seen. If any of them are photoshopped then its done nicely and discretely. Some of these are a bit odd, G8 vs Evo, but still, it's nice to see them. I'm not gonna mention Kia vs. Ferrari as being uneven... (I'd take the Kia). It was nice to see that there was not one car taking up 1/4 of all the pictures this time a la Camaro in nearly every other set.
