Last Dodge Viper Is One of a Kind

    Just the Facts:
    • The last 2010 Dodge Viper was delivered to its new owner, D'Ann Rauh.
    • Rauh's Viper is factory-customized with copper stripes.
    • The Rauh family owns more than 40 Vipers.

DETROIT — D'Ann Rauh and her husband, Wayne Rauh, of Arp, Texas, have just added one last model to what is described as the world's largest personal collection of Dodge Vipers. The latest Viper — a factory-customized edition painted bronze gold — also happens to be the last one off the line at Chrysler's Conner Avenue assembly plant here.

Taking delivery at the plant, the Rauhs were joined by Dodge boss Ralph Gilles and plant manager Shelly Brown Gordon.

Since the car went into production in 1992, the Rauhs have amassed a personal collection of more than 40 Vipers. The newest member of the collection was created together with the Dodge design team, Chrysler's SRT group, House of Kolor and Venzano and features layouts of Viper-significant racetracks airbrushed into the custom-painted copper stripes.

Rauh's Viper is the last of the 2010 models off the line in Detroit. A new-generation Viper is tentatively planned for 2012-'13.

You took the words right out of my mouth...

    For the Odd Couple:
LOL, I guess now we know who own 90% of these Vipers...

The owners are smiling, they have a very valuable collection about to sky rocket in value. However the employees seem to have a few smiles but this must be bad for them, do they have something else to work on or are they laid off ?  A sad day indeed !!

40 Vipers?  I could think of worse things.  How about 40 boring Hondas all with faulty transmissions like my 09' Odyssey?  Or 40 Toyota death traps?  40 Vipers?  Its a good thing.

Of all American cars, Ford GT40 and Dodge Viper are the only 2 cars I would buy if I can afford them. 2 - 3 same cars is acceptable. But, 40 same model? I agree, it is stupid; even 40 Ferraris or Lambogini is still stupid. I wish I have that kind of money. I wonder where and how she keeps all 40s of them. Does she have a monter garage?

A suitable color and should be worth something down the road.  Appropriate that this couple gets the last production vehicle..

40 Ferrari's I understand. That would be awesome.

    40 Vipers is just stupid.

Forty Vipers is at least 35 too many, IMO.  I don't believe they're so interesting that I wouldn't want to spend my money on other vehicles, especially since they've always been crude and rough and you can only drive one at a time.  You'd surely get a feel for the model range with fewer than 40.  I hate to say it, but this seems like a more expensive habit for the same demographic that would collect Elvis plates if they hadn't the same cash flow.

The Viper is the greatest American expression of pride since the Mustang...please, Chrysler/Fiat, bring us a new generation that's true to the original spirit!
