DETROIT — The look of the redesigned Dodge Viper was inspired by "a naked woman on the beach," said Ralph Gilles, president and CEO of the Dodge brand on Thursday, forcing the curious to use their imaginations.
There are no images available of the future Viper at this point.
Speaking to reporters at the Automotive News World Congress, Gilles also said that the new Viper won't use engines from Fiat's Ferrari brand. Viper production stopped in July, but Chrysler has suggested that the Viper will be back in 2012 as a 2013 model.
A video with excerpts of Gilles' speech was posted Friday on the Chrysler Web site, but did not contain the remarks about the Viper. Instead, Gilles mused about Chrysler's "underdog factor" and how the company has "been a bit of a recluse, a bit of a mysterious company" as it has emerged from a federally led bankruptcy proceedings.
He noted that "great things come of failure." In recent months, Gilles said that the automaker had to "decomplicate" the process of car design. He argued that the Chrysler 300, which debuted to much fanfare at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, had become "uncompetitive," but predicted that the new sedan would be a success in the marketplace.

There's actually a design made. There is not any pictures though. My father actually saw it in person at chryslers dealer meeting in florida last year. They are continuing to use the current 8.4 litre motor because they put so much money into developing it. But they are planning a entry level viper with a smaller motor. Possibly with the new 6.4 litre hemi or slightly tuned for over 500hp. But from what I was told by my dad that viper looks amazing and he's just waiting for the orders to open up so he can get one.
price ranging from $70,000-100,000 depending on model, which is great to compete with corvette pricing

Well, as long as they naked woman on the beach is akin to Halle Berry. We guys hear "naked woman on beach" and that's what we think about. But remember, nude beaches aren't always screened for nudity. I don't want the new Viper to look like most women who frequent naked beaches.

What are the chances of a 6.4L Hemi based V10 making it into this car? Probably not too good considering the volume but I wonder if it has been considered. Or even a 7.0L version of the 6.4 to compete with the Corvette Z06.

As long as it doesn't come with a Honda designed exterior and Toyota designed safety features, The new Dodge Viper should look and perform great.
