But Chrysler is not likely to close a deal before a March 31 deadline set by the federal government. By that date, the automaker must submit a plan demonstrating its long-term viability in order to secure a $4 billion federal loan. The automaker also faces a February 17 deadline to send a restructuring plan to the U.S. Treasury.
According to Automotive News, Viper sales jumped 74 percent in January — to 127 units.
