Stanley Cup Finals Get Amped Up With 2008 Red Wings Dodge Journey

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — In what amounts to a rolling taunt to fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins, the 2008 Red Wings Dodge Journey has been introduced just in time for game three of the Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday.

Images of the one-off Red Wings Dodge Journey made their appearance on Chrysler's corporate blog on Wednesday under the headline, Journey into Enemy Territory. "This may be as smart as wearing a Yankees jacket at Fenway Park," noted blogger Ed Garsten. "But we have faith both the Detroit Red Wings and the special Red Wings Dodge Journey will make it out of Pittsburgh unscathed."

No horsepower upgrades or rear cargo hatch transformed into a penalty box on this Journey. Instead, the highlights include oversize decals of the team logo and the Stanley Cup. The wags at the Chrysler Web site quip: "With its exclusive floorboard storage area, there's room for an octopus and a couple of penguins." The octopus has been a part of Detroit Red Wings playoff games since the early 1950s. Fans throw an octopus onto the ice for good luck during games.

What this means to you: Not the ride you want to be seen in if you're Sidney Crosby, the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
