This is James Riswick for Inside Line and this week we have all-new spy video of the upcoming Dodge Hornet. Caught during hot weather testing in Death Valley, this prototype is based on an Alfa Romeo Giulietta hatchback. It's hard to tell at this point how much of the Alfa's styling will carry over to the production Dodge. Most of the sheetmetal appears unchanged, but there are hints of Dodge's signature crosshair grille design up front along with a new set of headlights. The Fiat-based hatchback will likely carryover unchanged under the skin. That means small, turbocharged, four cylinder engines and a fully independent suspension. Expect to see the production version of the Dodge Hornet early next year, with sales beginning sometime next summer.

All the benies of the Alfa with the price of a Dodge. Also don't have to start new dealerships and foolishness... it'll be just a lil ol' Dodge ... heeheehee Sergio knowzzzzz ...

In response to "brankobox"...Did you watch the video? That's a hatchback, not a sedan. Just click "play video" above on the picture of the hatchback, and you will see. Also, as an FYI, the 2013 Dodge Hornet is replacing the Dodge Caliper in their product lineup. That vehicle is also a hatchback. An example of a sedan would be their next car model up in the lineup called the Dodge Avenger. That is a sedan (4 doors).

this is based off of my favorite alfa but unfortunately it will be missing my favorite thing about it: its looks. if it drives exactly like the alfa then i would still consider buying it tho but would trade it for the legit alfa if they ever brought it to the USA.

Chinz, I'd rather that they bring the Alfa here as a Dodge than wait endlessly and in vain for Alfa to someday mayyyyyyybe offer its wares to us unworthy Americans. The Giulietta is cool and as a Dodge would make an excellent alternative to a high end Focus.

Facelifted Alfa Romeo Giulietta will be brought to the US in 2013 or 2014.
2013 Dodge Hornet is a sedan, not a hatchback.

This again? I still don't understand why Fiat won't just sell the Giulietta here PROPERLY, as an Alfa Romeo.
