AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Chrysler is recalling 367,350 2008 Chrysler Town & Country and 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan minivans because the airbag deployment module may be damaged, the company said on Thursday.
"Some vehicles may have an improperly installed (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) hose grommet that could cause moisture to collect on the floor and damage the airbag deployment module," Chrysler said in a statement.
The automaker said it is not aware of any accidents or fatalities resulting from this problem.
Chrysler dealers will inspect and replace the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning drain hose grommets in the affected vehicles. The automaker has not announced a start date for the recall.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not yet posted any information about this recall on its Web site.
Owners of the affected vehicles can contact Chrysler at (800) 853-1403.
