2011 Dodge Durango I’m Erin Riches, Senior Editor of Inside Line, and our latest spy video takes a look at the upcoming redesign of the Dodge Durango. Caught testing in Michigan recently, the revamped Durango is expected to go on sale in early 2011. Styling changes are evolutionary on these Durango prototypes, but there's radical change underneath the camouflage. Instead of using body-on-frame construction, the new Durango has a unit-body structure based on a stretched version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee platform. There should still be plenty of room for a third-row seat, but as you can see from these prototypes, the Durango is no longer a full-size SUV. You can just make out the new independent rear suspension in this footage. There has been speculation that Chrysler will market the new Durango as a crossover and rename it the Magnum. We have our doubts, though, because the last Magnum was a sales flop. Look for Chrysler to offer the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 as the volume engine, with the Hemi V8 available as an option. Look for the official unveiling of the Durango later this year. I’m Erin Riches, Senior Editor for Inside Line.com
