AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — The 2012 Dodge Charger Redline, which features three Mopar kits, will debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
The performance kits will arrive later this year, said Chrysler.
Pricing has not been announced.
Mopar will have a more high-profile presence at upcoming auto shows, noted Chrysler in a statement on Monday. Next week's Detroit show will also see the debut of the Chrysler 200 Super S by Mopar.
The Charger Redline showcases kits that add cosmetic and performance upgrades.
The Stage One kit for the Charger includes a Mopar carbon-fiber chin spoiler, carbon-fiber door scoops and carbon-fiber rear spoiler. The Stage One modifications are based on the 2012 Charger R/T. The cabin gets a Mopar aluminum shift bezel and instrument panel bezel with Redline perimeter accent.
The Stage Two Mopar kit bundles a cat-back exhaust system, a front-tower cross-brace and brace caps for improved handling, plus high-performance Mopar brake linings.
The Stage Three Mopar kit features the new 590-horsepower Gen III 426 Hemi V8 crate engine, but Chrysler notes it's only for race or off-road use. The new engine delivers 220 more horsepower than the 2012 Dodge Charger R/T. Other details include Mopar cast-aluminum valve covers and billet fuel rails.
Inside Line says: Charger gets some major mods courtesy of Mopar in time for the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

Its halftime in America people, and once Obama is sent home and Republicans control the congress, we will see a return to far less expensive gasoline. All you emasculated hybrid drivers out there - take off your sandals, put down your Kindle, and start looking at fair trade prices on KBB for your unsafe little buggies.

@r53driver
No SUV's don't get better gas mileage. Not even close. The charger with the 8-speed auto gets 21 mpg city, 31 mpg highway.

Nice. If BMW can build M5s good for dodge for making the redline. I'm so sick of hearing about how american steet cars can't compete with the germans .

@ambushbug: Exactly. Its a behemoth. I'd never buy such a huge guzzler. SUV's get better milage, and more utility. Im sure there are a few out there who don't mind, but for the masses, this is a terrible business move for an industry moving away from v6/v8 and towards i4 turbos.

woot woot!!! the big 3 come to the brink of extinction for pushing big heavy fuel guzzlers, 0% financing, and massive cash discounts only to do what... exactly what put them there.
