    Just the Facts:
    • Dodge unveils a limited-edition Challenger with Mopar parts.
    • Mopar '10 Challenger is built on a Challenger R/T frame.
    • Only 500 units will be built.

DETROIT — Chrysler unveiled the first special-edition Mopar version of the Challenger today, a celebration of the longstanding relationship between the automaker and its dedicated aftermarket parts supplier.

"Our Mopar '10 Challenger is a collaboration of two iconic brands with tremendous heritage," said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC in a statement.

Mopar '10 Challenger is based on a 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T, modified for a new look and greater performance. Equipment includes the Challenger's 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine concealed by a unique engine cover, along with a variety of other Mopar enhancements. A hood-venting system, a cold-air intake and a front strut tower brace with shock caps are part of the package, as is a rear strut tower brace to stiffen the chassis.

Available now for pre-order, the Mopar '10 will arrive in August priced at $38,000 for the automatic transmission, and $39,000 for a manual tranny with pistol-grip shifter. Mopar will build only 500 of these models, available only in Brilliant Black paint with a choice of three different stripe colors: Mopar Blue, Red or Silver. Interior stitching on the steering wheel and seats will match the exterior stripe color.

Twenty-inch forged heritage gloss-black wheels, a black-chromed grille surround, a functional, vented T/A-style hood with vintage hood pins, a serialized dash plaque and Mopar logos galore round out the package.

Bonus: A special Mopar '10 car cover and an owner's kit that includes a limited-edition sketch of the vehicle signed by Chrysler Group Design Chief Mark Trostle come with the purchase.

why would you be surprised this car Kicks ass on the Camaro for looks and is the closest to the 70 of all 3 in appearance altho the Mustang is creating quite a stir and gets high marks on all counts something GM and Mopar need to learn how to do!
The Motor Trend issue comparing all three the Mustang ranked highest in all catagories in a good 40 or more areas.

There is no way anyone will be able to pick up one of these "limited" cars for only 39,000....not even close.
So tired of the arrogance over at Chrysler that more than anything else is keeping them from becoming a true competitor.

I like everything about this car except for the color choices, which is none. C'mon Dodge, an all black car is really, really boring. This limited edition should be available in sooo many different colors. I say ten different colors so that every 50th car is a new color. Black and white stripes should be the only two choices.

$39,000 and it still has the not necessarily ready for prime time Hemi in it?  Why not lower the price of the SRT to 39K and produce a car that can compete with the Mustang and Camaro-- Dodge already has the boulevard cruiser version in the RT, but the current SRT is too costly.

Why only 500 units?  boost the HP, make the manual trans the standard no cost option, take some weight out (from somewhere) and this will be the car it should have been from the start to take on the Camaro and the Mustang.
