AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Dodge is turning again to what it calls "throwback style," with word on Thursday that it will launch a production run of the 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic and SRT8 featuring classic Plum Crazy Pearl Coat. The limited-production run will start in late November.

The 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic in Plum Crazy Pearl Coat starts at $35,140, including a $725 destination charge. The 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in Plum Crazy Pearl Coat starts at $44,155, including shipping.

The Challenger R/T version gets A-line body-side R/T stripes in matte black or bright white. Other cues include Challenger fender badges in "classic script," 20-inch polished chrome heritage wheels with all-season performance tires, a classic egg-crate grille with heritage R/T badge, body-color rear spoiler, functional hood scoop and chrome fuel-filler door. The R/T version is equipped with the 376-horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi V8.

The Challenger SRT8 version gets exterior-matching SRT performance seats with a Plum Crazy accented stripe. It is equipped with the 6.1-liter Hemi V8 that churns out 425 hp.

Inside Line says: A relatively inexpensive way — from the manufacturer and consumer's viewpoint — to spice up the 2010 Challenger. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

I would like to see future design on this beauty beast lower its profile to gain road traction and less wind drag. 2008 to 2010 challenger look top heavy and bloat. It looks great from top to mid point, but the lower body looks like fat dynmino, the old cartoon back in the '70. it still has that mystic beauty that Ford and GM can not match at presence. Thank you Dodge on your leading the way to take back some respect from the Euro and the Japanese.

Love it!  I just hope the dealer will not gouge on price like they do on all SRT 8's

I'm with you, It was nice to see Hemi Orange and B5-blue, but the whole time I wanted to see Lime-Green, Lemon-Twist, Pink Panther, and of course Plum Crazy Purple, by the way "notabigdeal" I like the name of the color so much my plates on my 74 Barracuda read "PLM CRAZ"

(Mopar guys, I am aware that when the color was put on a Plymouth it was called in-violet and it wasn't offered on the Barracuda in 74)

Color is ok but pleaes change the name. If you out w/ your dude friends in your brand new retro purple Challanger you are not going to want to say "hey guys how do you like my 'plum crazy' challanger." Color is ok, different name please.

I don't care for it too much, but I appreciate the effort to get more colour on the roads.

Restore the option for the old interface and all will be forgiven.

When the most popular colors are silver, black, and white, the world needs more colors like this.  Way to go Dodge.

I like it. Although I'm not a fan of the polished wheels.
