2010 Dodge Challenger Furious Fuchsia Editions Unleashed

CHICAGO — In what is sure to be a polarizing color choice, Dodge on Monday unveiled the 2010 Dodge Challenger Furious Fuchsia editions that seem drawn from the lipstick color palette of Estée Lauder and Lancôme. The special-edition Challengers were revealed ahead of the 2010 Chicago Auto Show, which kicks off this week.

Dodge explained that the 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic and Challenger SRT8 Furious Fuchsia models answer "customers' desire for the return of more Dodge brand high-impact heritage paint hues." However, it is tempting to liken them to the long string of pink-hued vehicles that run the gamut from the 1955 Dodge La Femme to the pink Fiat 500 that was unveiled earlier this year by the Italian automaker. The dictionary defines fuchsia as a "bright, purplish-red color," but the images seem to suggest that the Challenger's fuchsia shade veers more toward the pink end of the spectrum.

Dodge said the 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic in Furious Fuchsia starts at $35,140, including a $725 destination charge. The companion 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in Furious Fuchsia starts at $45,150, including shipping. Both can be ordered in March, with production slated for May. Dodge says just 400 units of the Challenger SRT8 in Furious Fuchsia will be built.

The Challenger R/T Classic Furious Fuchsia gets 20-inch polished-aluminum heritage wheels with all-season performance tires, egg-crate grille with R/T badging, body-color rear spoiler, functional hood scoop and a bright racing-style fuel filler door. The cabin gets Pearl White performance seats with optional Furious Fuchsia French-seamed stitching. It is equipped with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 linked to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission.

The Challenger SRT8 Furious Fuchsia has Pearl White leather SRT performance seats, 20-inch SRT forged-aluminum wheels with Satin Black accents, serialized dash plaque indicating the limited production series of 400 and retro-inspired chromed quad exhaust tips. It is equipped with a 6.1-liter Hemi V8.

My buddy has one and I'm jealous!!!!!
It may be colder than heck here but the car is put away under a nice cover waiting for spring.

This is a very cool car. I own several Mopars and remember Panther Pink on a 1970 Challenger TA edition is hot not to mention very valuable these days. I own a black 2010 and am thinking about trading it in for a Fusia. This is what you call throwback. Mopar is the leader of cool colors. Its for the real car guy.

The younger generation is missing the point, Dodge has returned to the glory days when High Impact was the choice, as no compared to he Mundane Camaros, Mustangs and AMC's out on the Boulevard.
People such, as myself like the idea ofthe Furious Fusia as compared to te Classc FM3, Panther Pink. Yes, I will agree the 60's and 70's were a much differant time, but what is so wrong with trying to recapure the past in the present, with these High Impact colors, such as the pinks, the B5 Blue, Detonator Yellow which was back in the day-Top Banana, or the Curious Yellow, Sassy Grass Green, In Violet, Go Man Go, Stone white,Butterscotch,Cocoa Brown, TorRed, How about Green Go, where did th enthusiasm go in the 80's and 90's. I am glad these colors are back.

Yes along with inflation and only 400 of these models , says that this will be a special car that has instant collector writen all over it, as did the Limited run Prowlers.
I am glad Chrsler is still, around and did not die off, as so many wished they would.

The Italians need to understand Heritage, It, is what makes us MOPAR Fanatics so special, and those who do not understand the "Mopar or No car"mentallity.
I just have to say the younger generation needs to attend a car show where all these wonderfully restored ime machines can be seen in all their glory and beauty.

This is a sexy car. It's not too pink but its just right. Not every girl wants barbies car. Some want something a little bit faster.

Wow.  That is a lot of money to spend on a piece of garbage.  Smart to only make 400 of these.

You would really have to be extremely secure about your masculinity to cruise around in one of these.  Remember people, the 60's and 70's were a different time, you could certainly get away with a lot more.
