WASHINGTON — Chrysler is recalling 840 2010 Dodge Ram trucks because of incorrect labeling that could increase the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"Some vehicles have been built with certification and/or supplemental tire pressure information labels printed with incorrect weight or seating capacity information," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "The misinformation on these labels could lead to, among other things, failure to follow proper vehicle loading specifications that could increase the risk of a crash."
The incorrect labels were printed at Chrysler's Saltillo, Mexico, truck assembly plant, according to other documentation filed with the federal government.
Ram owners will be provided with replacement labels. The recall is expected to begin sometime in October. Owners can contact Chrysler at 800-853-1403.
