2003 Daewoo Magnus
What's special about it?
Despite an uncertain financial future, Daewoo displayed its Leganza replacement, the Magnus. Details are scarce, but we know that it'll be powered by a 159-horsepower inline six engine, an anomaly for Korean cars. The Leganza was by no means an unattractive vehicle; the Magnus also sports appealing sheetmetal penned by the same design house that fashioned the Lexus GS range, with character lines distinguishing it from more mundane sedans. Priced in the $17,000 to $21,000 range, it looks to compete in the midsize family sedan market.
Why should you care?
We're still waiting for further details, but the family sedan market is awfully crowded with some excellent well-established marques. The Daewoo will have to possess some pretty compelling traits in order to make a dent in the arena. Liz Kim
