SHANGHAI, China — At the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën has launched the Citroën C-Quatre Sedan as a companion to the C-Quatre hatchback that was introduced last fall. Developed and built in China, the C-Quatre Sedan goes on sale here in June.

Based on the European C4, the C-Quatre Sedan is powered by either a 1.6- or 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, with a choice of five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmissions.

DPC also introduced a Chinese edition of the Citroën C5, which goes into production in December at the new Wuhan plant and should begin reaching customers in China in early 2010.

Inside Line says: Fairly conservative styling, especially by French standards. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
