While the PT Cruiser has yet to hit dealer showrooms (it arrives next spring), DaimlerChrysler couldn't wait that long to begin modifying the car. It introduced the GT Cruiser at SEMA to give the public an idea of where this unique platform might lead. With a 1-inch lowered stance and 2-inch wider track, the GT Cruiser has a slammed and customized look, further accented by the careful integration of exterior badges. Seventeen-inch wheels and 215/50 series tires complement the car's aggressive stance.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this Cruiser is what you can't see: a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine that makes 200 horsepower and 225 ft-lbs. of torque. Mated to an American Club Racing (ACR) five-speed manual transmission and breathing through dual chrome exhaust pipes, this drivetrain offers performance to match the GT Cruiser's namesake. If Chrysler doesn't make this car, someone else out there probably will.
